    Failed - With Style!

Yep, failed practical test today Don't want sympathy cos i let myself down. I have had 40 lessons and i well and truly fluffed school-boy error style!!

Nerves totally got the better of me (1st test) and couldn't even keep my foot still on the accelerator it was twitching and making a really loud drum sound with the twitching, i swear the examiner heard it!

As for the examiner, not gonna slag him off, he failed me cos i drove pants on the day. I would suggest some of these people learn the art of conversation tho, it is meant to assess your driving skills, and how can he do that properly if i am a bag of nerves and by even responding to my answers would have been a nice gesture to calm me down (he could see i was bricking it)

    Ah well, roll on test 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6!!

like fonz says (i'm ignoring your new name ) you'll prolly pass second time.

don't even joke about test number 6 though, one of my teachers had to take that many :/

Yeah, at least you'll know what to expect next time. It's not an easy test and most people don't pass first time.

I've got my 3rd one coming up soon so I know what it's like. I failed 10 seconds into my 2nd test Soon as I got out the car park that was it lol

    Sorry to hear that TW.

Out of curiosity, what's entailed in a driving test, to get your license, over there?
Sounds WAY tougher than here where they let any old idiot behind the wheel. Even giggling school girls who have no clue as to how serious driving a car is.

I would have thought all examiners are like that.. mine was, anyway. The only reason they won't talk to you other than giving directions and a "Hello, how are you?" at the beginning is because they are actually bricking it themselves! They put their lives in the hands of someone who could potentially kill/maim/kidnap/murder/call their mummy names. So don't worry, I'm sure he was just as afraid as you, chap.

Good luck for next time. Try to get your test booked for as early in the morning as possible (if you can arrange a time, that is). Then you don't have so long to think about what will happen, and your gut won't have as much time to churn. Make sure you have a good breakfast too. With sausages... mmmm..

Yes RocketMan it is difficult to get a driving licence, only about 40% of people pass the practical test so most people require at least 3 re-tests.

You've also got the theory test which is the easiest thing in the world if you've got common sense. Sadly some people lack that and need to learn 1000 bits of information in the vein attempt to remember what they do if there right hand indicator fails and they need to turn right etc

I'm sure that on your 2nd attempt now you know what to expect that you'll have no problem and do fine.

    TiG

P.S - answers on a postcard to how you turn right without an indicator..

I'm just glad I never had to do one in the first place

Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean

Thanks for the comments everyone, does make me feel better that failing once or more is not such a bad thing Taking the opinion now, i will pass...regardless of how long it takes me + how well all the examiners know who i am by the time i do eventually pass

One quick thing, does the examiner know before my re-test i have taken one exam before??
