    Question Citroen Berlingo

Does anyone have or drive one of these for work?

My work are thinking of getting two of these, main reason being their very cheap, £6000 brand new from motorpoint

They are the 1.9d 800kg spec

Just trying to find out if there any good as they have been warned off VW Caddy's

    Thanks

I moved house in one a couple of years ago. Seemed OK, very car-like to drive.

My dad has the next one down from that - Citroen C15D.

600kg, but for £4995 there not a bad little van, 1.9 un turobcharged. Not quick, but pulls well and won't let you down, Shame they look like the Citroen Visa though.

The Caddy's are ok, so long as you keep on tiop of em service wise, and chuck cambelts at it after 40k.... As far as the Berlingo goes, you might want to consider the Renault/Nissan offering, basically the same van, but it's got a better engine in it, ie the 1.9 dci turbo thingy. I think the Citroen's only got a n/a motor... although in the Peugeot Partner (which it shares the chassis with) has the Peugeot Hdi engine which is also a solid enough bit of kit...

Used to drive one a lot in my last job. Not too bad, but very boaty in the corners. Not great for long trips either. I now drive a Renault Kangoo, much the same but a little nicer IMO.

Our works Caddy had 3 engines before it was finally taken off somewhere to die. Also ran on and refused to start whilst it wasn't blown up. It also had a major brake system issue (with me driving it on the M6). Avoid at all costs.

I've not had long term experiance with a Berlingo, just rental. They where always reasonable to drive. I did hit a bump hard on the A11 and the engine management light said "NON!" at me on one occasion.

The one thing I always found about Citroens was the price of spare parts & servicing - talk about expensive
