Streetfighter headlight removed from bike - better?

The previous owner of my bike had put a stupid streetfighter 'alien' headlight on the front of my lovely CB500R. He is a Sunday-biker so wanted the aerodynamics I think - and liked the look.

When i picked it up it looked like this

To me this looks gobsmackingly crap - as well as very, very dangerous given I ride a fair bit at night. Some people like it though? And he'd taken the front indicators off - ******. With a bit of bodging about I managed to find a standard round headlight pretty close to Honda original, and some mini-flashers from the back of the shed.

Now looks like this (apologies for dark photo - it was crap-weather day)

    Opinions?

I think the bike looks more balenced with the single headlamp

Yeah - the streetfighter thing was just out of place - it now looks like a 'proper old-skool' bike like what yer uncle Bill would think a bike should look like.

Yep - I like being seen. Although I like the all-black look thing on bikes it's a good way to get killed. Tis why I look like a mobile funfair with red jacket and hi-vis vest.

Re: Streetfighter headlight removed from bike - better?

removing the headlight is a big improvement.

my question, do you have a pic of the rear, so I can see how the indicators are mounted?
I think my own CB-500 is skinny at the rear, so I want to make it bigger.
I also want to know what indicators are used on the bike.

if my english is a bit ****ty, sorry for that, I'm from Holland and trying my best :-)

building a streetfighter of mine has crossed my mind a few times.. and i think I will really do. but with a square headlight instead of the round one.

Re: Streetfighter headlight removed from bike - better?

I can see why the streetfighter headlight was fitted in an attempt to make the bike look sportier. But to be honest it should have just been left stock, so it looks a lot better now

TBH it's the wrong bike to turn into a streetfighter. It looks much better now.
