What exactly are these?: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/15BHP-Power-Mo...QQcmdZViewItem
It doesn't say - I'm guessing it's some sort of ECU mod?
There is tons about on eBay, and they are very cheap, something strange about them..

from the page:
How does it work?
It will modify any standard ECU by telling the ECU that the incoming air in the intake system is cold and so advances the ignition to compensate producing more power. In many cases fuel economy is increased too. Power is increased by up to 15BHP and torque is increased significantly.
It will be more responsive and you WILL LIKE IT.
this sounds like a con to me, its probably some kind of tracking device that tracks were your going and speeds your doing etc!
imho i wouldnt buy one its not worth it for and extra 15BHP at MAX!
Untill your ECU adjusts the mix back to where it should be. Unless it makes it think it's so cold the management stays in open loop 'warm up', which'll cause all sorts of nasties.Originally Posted by from the page
It's a resistor in a box and a bad idea.
If you want to damage the engine then go ahead. Head gasket will get ruined from my understanding.
Raw power in itself from stock form is the best without ruining the vehicle.
Personally I have a Yamaha R1.

Yup, its a resistor, tricks the car's ECU into thinking the air coming in is colder than it really is making the ECU put more fuel in...
The thing is the air isnt colder so putting more fuel in will upset the engines normal air/fuel ratio and thats a bad thing.
The best thing is there was one that was on there a while back listing the Cav/Calibra Turbo as a car that it could be fitted too, yet further down the page it stated that it wasnt suitable for turbo'd cars...
Spend your money on an oil and filter change instead....
Except in most cases it doesn't. Just WOT and warm up.Originally Posted by [GSV]Trig
If you do buy one though, I have some special oil extracted from snakes that will help your engine produce a further 10bhp whilst increasing the efficiency by 5mpg too
I am going to have to report you to RSPCAOriginally Posted by jamena
Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.
no snakes were harmed during the making of this oil - they were dead beforehand
