So I did own an Escort but......

OK I did have a G reg 1.4 Escort. Then I leave the house this morning and it aint where I parked it no more

So I've gone thru the hole ringing police and insurance company and now I guess I need to wait and see what happens.

The police havent had any reports yet...

So has anyone been thru this? and can anyone tell me wtf I need to do? If anything? Also any suggestions on replacements? I dont think I'll be able to spend much more than I get from the insurance tbh.

I'm not particualarly fussed about the car itself its more the fact that I need a car for work and this is gonna cause me extra hassle that I'd be happy not to have to deal with.

    nightmare man... real unlucky...

next you'll be sent forms from your insurance co, and they'll ask for stuff like the police crime number where the car was parked and such... and then its just a waiting game... when I got my m/bike nicked the insurance company waited for 6 weeks before paying up, as there allowed to leave a reasonable time between your theft and payout to allow for the police to do their job of finding it

unfortunately its just a waiting game..

    Update, kinda good news.

The police found the car earlier today. I went out to it and the only damage they appear to have done is to the steering lock and the ignition.

They have of course taken everything of value that they could find So I've not got a cd player anymore and my Killer Loop Sunglasses that I'd left in the car due to the nice whether are now in the grasps of some little b@*******s.

The cars now in the insurance places official repair place so I've just got to wait and see. They have said that if the repair bill is too high they may still write it off! So I may still end up without a car My main concern now is that I'm not gonna get enough off the policy to get anything much better than the current car. I pretty sure it aint gonna even make the deposit for the car I want, my Focus RS (ok maybe not realistic)

But I'm certainly a bit happier now. The police scene of crime people are due to look at it tomorrow so you never know they may just find them. It would also be nice if they let me know who they are so I can go and have a quiet word

    Thanks for the replies gents..

I'm off to look at the Ford website for pics of the Focus RS so I can atleast keep dreaming

I have to say to my untrained eye they didnt do a bad job of it. I didnt notice any damage made by the entry to the car. Just the damage when they started it.

Oh well. I've recently started to believe the whole Karma thing. So hopefully they'll get whats comming to them one way or another.

I'm happier now. But it's still all in the insurance companies hands now.

Oh I totally agree with the whole them ending up locked up being a good deal for them in the end.

By them getting whats coming to them, and the whole Karma thing I was meaning that ultimatley bad things happen to bad people and that just about makes me feel better.

Trig was being ironic I think mate.......we're all gutted for ya

Why not ask the Insurance company if you can buy it off them...it'll be cheap enough....leave the stereo out of it....get a crook lock on it and leave it with no locks......

save a lot of time ..sorry.....its not a good day for ya man...but least you got transport for a few days until you decide what to do

    Cheers for the response gents

Cheered me up for the moment. This and some very loud/angry music

I'm gonna wait to see what the insurance say tomorrow and then go from there.

My real hope is that if they do get caugh and ultimately put away (slim chances I think) then hopefully they'll have to share a cell with some dude called Buba who's after a new Biatch

I've remembered why I like browsing these forums...... its the top quality community and great responses you get to posts

I've started parking my car on the culdy sack road round the corner ever since both my car and another one two days later had their windows smashed on my road (cost me £185). However I always round the corner wondering if it will still be there.
Thats why I decided to only buy a £300 car. I simply didnt want the worry of having something nice parked where I live.

    I feel for ya
