Your 1.4 had a little turbo which meant it wasn't simply a woefully underpowered shopping trolley which would have had significant difficulty pulling a greased stick from the nether regions of a pig.

Oh, and it's NOT a 1.4LX if its on an N plate as the LX trim level was introduced in 306's from the Phase 2 introduction, late P reg. It's probably a 1.4 XL.

This means that, in addition to the ridiculous exhuast, dodgy mirrors and Lexus lights, this lovely 306 also has:

    a) Windup windows
    b) Nasty seats
    c) No kit whatsoever, infact the only electric things on it are the lights and starter motor probably...

    Great buy..

I was thinking along the same lines fox, but had visions of a 1.4 306 desperately trying to pull the skin off a custard bowl.

Kitty, you've probably guessed by now that just from the description of your car, you've gained the title of chief chav/barryboy.

Just because your car has been crashed into Ripspeed in the hope things stick to it, doesn't make it a great car.

I'd have been more impressed if you'd said you bought a bog standard 1.4 306 with immaculate paintwork and a looked after interior.

The addition of 17" wheels and all that stick on tat has probably taken the acceleration of 0-60 from a woeful 14.7secs to a rediculously slow 30secs.

We all make mistakes, and I'm sure one day you'll look back on this car and see the same as we see now.

In the mean time, enjoy it

I personally wouldn't be able to live wihtout these items (well the items you're referring to) Although some people are less fussy. My car has electric windows/mirrors/sunroof, remote central locking, air con, etc and I'm hoping the next car I buy will have all of these as I've become used to them

It also has 15" (or are they 14") that suit the car and don't slow it down heh.

For the record, I like the look of Fox' car

I've got a 306 T reg LX in 'Prevance Blue'.

Nice seats, leccy winders, air con (that doesnt work, needs regassing), poo gear knob (that previous owner installed, hell knows what they were thinking), annoying little rattles on the dash, i buggered the clock up so it doesnt backlight, it randomly cuts out for no reason and the engine's started to make a funny noise when drifting, and i've just taken her over the 90k mark. Oh, and the glove box latch is broken.

But it gets me from a>b, and it doesnt look like someone's rubbed a chavstick all over it. Thank god.

congrats kitty, sounds like you're pretty pleased... 306's have a good rep for handling, and the 1.4 isn't as gutless as it sounds (but a big engine just means more costs)... looking forward to your pics

It's better than my Skoda Fabia's 1.4l engine - I have the 8v version which gives me a whopping 68bhp, whereas the Peugeot 1.4 should have 75bhp and the K&N air filter should give it a bit more go.

The K&N filter won't make a noticeable difference I wouldn't have thought... It'll just make it sound different, as with the exhaust
