    Talking Wahoo!

Just had someone call about my Clio, first call in 8 days of being on the Autotrader web site

Any tips for when he comes for a look?

clean the car out, wax it, make sure it smells 'new' (you can get smelly crap to make this happen). make sure the stereos not going to come on too loud and run the car for 10 mins before he/she comes if its ugly when cold (ie starting troubles/smokey/anything similar). set yourself a minimum price to take, and consider throwing in freebies to intice him (not sure what - carmats/shampoo/oil or something??). make sure you got the documentation ready to handover, and park your alfa round the corner so the clio doesnt look crap in comparison. maybe park it next to a slightly rusty/old car??

hmmm, im not sure about that running it for 10 mins before he comes is a good plan - that would automatically make me suspicious... i certainly wouldn't buy it without seeing it 'start from cold' atleast once.

Agreed, i would think something was suss if the car i was coming to see was already warmed up. Best bet, just get it all nice and clean and smelling tip top...

    Warmed up

If he wants to see under the bonnet (Iwould) - you'd feel the heat off it.

Yep, as others have said. Clean and smell nice. Fabreeze does a good job. Take it to be cleaned in and out. Even if he doesn't take it, your car is clean!

well dont warm it up that much - my car will start much better if its been run for a minute (after sitting a day) rather than from cold cold. it wouldnt be anywhere near hot yet but it'll start better cos everythings started moving around
