    UniChip at Owendevelopments

for my Modded Astra will be £500 + vat....

and this bloke only has 3 days spare in Jan ......

he's busy.... and it takes 4 to 5 hours....

So its good they go to such lengths, but thats more dough than expected

And if I go with bigger injectors at any point, it wont work with them.

By all accounts, they road it multiple times for consistency, then remap it and in doing so, take various fuel and timing postions from the Vauxhall Engine map and reposotion them/ use them etc in different positions.....so its really a remap of preset conditions, rather than a re-map.....if they need a certain fule and timing signal and its not on the ECU in my car, I cant have it.

hmmmm....bit suprised by that one....nice bloke, well helpfull and very busy....which is good.

Yes, that is the problem with the piggyback controllers. Have you considered going for a complete new ecu. It's expensive but it will give the best gains, no doubt about it.

    considered ....and then dumped....

    maybe next year.....

Need a very rare Pinion for an F16 gearbox made by Quaife first....and Quaife dont make it anymore

If I can get that, then a bargain gear cluster that I have "located" will make a HOOJ difference....

SO...if anyone sees a Quaife Pinion for a Vauxhall F16 box......must be Syncro, not dog box....

then I need just a Pinion for a 4.85 ratio (can you spell REVS ? ) OR a new crownwheel and pinion at a lower ratio for same box.

Owens are apparently the best for Unichips when it comes to MR2's, everyone really rates them on the MR2 forums.

I reckon you're in good hands

    oh well.....

besides...I have a funny idea that your MR2 buddies cars have more potential than my Astra

    Zak,
Instead of spending the money on the mapping - why not put it towards some more head work? Or lightening of the car - im guessing that a new map wont release that much bhp on a N/A engine - which you could claw back by having a better handling and/or lighter car.

Edit- or even, dare I say it a bigger engine (as I have found out to my cost - you can only chuck so much cash at an engine before it works out cheaper to start with bigger CC's)
