Talking Final Drive Ratio Changed :)

Well I was told mine had a 3.9 : 1 in it, and I got myself a 4.1:1 cheap to replace it with.

Got one of our Mechanics to do it.....and out came the old ones..I counted the teeth...simple division...

original was a 3.7:1..which meant I was in for a rather better "rev increase" for my money

and along with the RON plug swap over for Optimax goodness....

we have a proper car on our hands

Third gear WAS just below 90 and is now maxed out mid 70's at 7000 rpm

Just been up the "test road" and I bottled it at just over 100 before the corner...previously bottled at 93 ish every time.

We have a potential rally car on our hands.

    Sounds like FUN
Im running a 4.10:1 in the drag car - and that has HUGE rolling circumfrence so yours must be crazy on a smaller diameter wheel

I've certainly not seen any, but wouldn't mind if a couple came floating past the net one day

Sounds ace, must be a mad little drive, I'd love to do abit of rally driving.

Sounds good. Sounds like you are enjoying the rebuilding aspect of the project too, which makes everything even more worthwhile i'm sure.

At least you know where to start

I am kinda "Management " in this....my dough, my ideas, and I noylget dirty when I am interested like cam timing etc.

Changing a crownwheel and pinion excited me like nipple clamps..so I got someone else to do it

Its like GRAN TURISMO in real life...every time I get it modded I go play with it

THATS HARD MATE.....cos it'll look the same :-/

its just gonna GO FASTER.....it'll look like normal, but with more dents

and a roll cage, that you could let a bird free in, and it would take an hour to find its way out

and we're not getting progress pictures

I love seeing pics of projects in work, they make it all real esp when you can chat to who's doing it

I've been thinking about a little project of my own, but I've just not got enough spare cash or time to start or finish anything at the moment.
