Smile A Headunit for me KA?

Ok, now i have passed i can pop down to my dealership and get them to put in a headunit for me...but i need suggestions It has to have the following: [more may be added]

    • Be under £140 [i will look at ideas slightly above this]
    • MP3 is optional but not a requirement
    • Removable face plate
    • Single disc changer, not multi-disc
    • Matches the colour red perfectly lol
    • EDIT: Sound clarity is better than functions

I am going to begin my search on caraudiodirect.co.uk but anymore places would be useful.

    Cheers fella's

Panasonic MP3 for about 100 quid, not bad - they also do a Kenwood one for about 130 iirc.

Remember you'll need a facia adapter since the KA headunit is an odd size.

    My brother has that 1.
    Sony CDX-MP40 - £119

Very nice i like these mp3 headunits as ya can have loads of songs and dont need to mess on with multichangers. BUT an mp3 multichanger would be nice 10 x mp3 CD's

Alpine probably has the best quality of the lot and you can get a brand new one for about £140. But it will be of a lower spec and won't play mp3's, but thats what i'd go for imo.

    Alpine 9801R £129.99

and if you wanted to spend and extra fiver:

    Alpine 9802RB £144.99

Not sure what the delivery is, and of course that doesn't include the ford fascia or iso adapter, but still

EDIT: Okay just noticed they're on special at the moment, hence the cheap price!

If in doubt, buy an Alpine. The 01R is a steal.

When I was shopping about for a new cd player i did look at a few mp3 units, but none of the ones in my price range compared to the quality of the Alpine unit (not mp3 capable). Of course if you wanted alpine and mp3 you'd pay big time for it.

If you're sure you don't want a mp3 unit, seriously consider an Alpine, it will last a lifetime and will sound magic. I'm sure many will agree.

I may be biased towards an Alpine as thats what I've got and love, they're worth every penny.

    Thats my two cents worth
