After front ending the 306 yesterday, my day slightly improved today with the arrival of a few of the bits for the Chevy lump......
Had these a while (purchased brand new - so therefore I know the history, wouldnt trust a S/H set) - a set of forged H beam rods - not cheap at over £500 but good for a conservative 700bhp.....
Then we have a crank trigger - with the potential the engine has - its quite possible that the torque will twist the crank and cam - and thus ruin the dizzy firing sequence (as its driven off the cam, which is itself driven off the crankshaft). This bolts onto the front of the crank, with 4 internal magnets, which are then picked up by the sensor and trigger the actual firing - the dizzy is only used for spark distribution (if that makes sense?)
Then we move onto the inlet manifold (again S/H) will give this a polish up. Open plenum manifold so low down power affected - but good for top end breathing...... picture of the manifold here (but boring!) http://homepage.ntlworld.com/iain.bu...s/Manifold.JPG but check out the size of the ports - again no good for low down power - but will seriously flow to around 7500 (which on a 7 1/2 litre engine will be interesting.....)
Have used a 50p as a datum for the size
Now all I have to do is raise the money to finish paying for the engine - and away we go!!!
