Lowe, shame its a 5dr huh.... wouldve looked cool as a 3dr! (looks awreet, but the car is too small to have 5doors imo)
5 doors just increases the shock factor when people try to get past.

Lowe's Clio is certainly unique. Its nice to see someone who isn't bothered about slapping a big bodykit on a car. What Lowe has done to his car is very tasteful (i dunno whether i'd have taken the backseats out though).

Im sure most people here will agree that it's a Lovely car and we all look forward to seeing what else your gonna do to it

Tis a little more than the rear seats though XTR. All the sound proofing has been removed, though I've left the plastic trim still in.

The biggest weight saving though was really from the rear seat belts and all the strengthening around that area. Once I took that lot out and put all the bits in a carrier bag or two, it ripped em to bits when I tried to pick it up! Problem is, no rear seat belts makes the car illegal so the rear seats had to go as well. For a bit of extra stealth I chucked a placcy dog bed in - makes it look like there's a reason for having no rear seats, not to mention it hides the tube that's behind the passenger seat.

I had originally took the spare tyre out as well, but I realised that all the weight I was removing was from the rear end of the car. The Clio was already a bit tail happy for a FWD car and this just made it worse, so for a comprimise I put the spare back in.

The only other thing I could really do now bar strip the lot, is to have perspex windows. Already priced it up, gonna be about 200 quid. However for the moment I'll stick to getting a bit more out the engine. Can always go nuts on weight reduction later.

heh end up drilling out that Chassis etc at that rate lowe

Glass fibre body panels & roll cage doesn't really go with stealth look tho.

Your planing a Hybrid turbo some time, from recollection ?

The car won't ever be sold. It'll either be written off through an accident or be kept as a weekend/trackday weapon if I need another car.

The shell/chassis is a J reg, the engine is an F reg.

Dunno about drilling, thought about it though. Glass fibre panels could be done though. Easy enough to smooth it in and get it sprayed up. It's light enough though for the moment.

    Next mods are:

Strut braces front and rear (gotta work out a way to hide the rear one though)
    Forge front mount intercooler
Then the big one - a T25/28 hybrid. Mega bucks, but it's good for up to 42psi..

Obviously I won't be running 42psi, but the GTT engine is more than capable of supporting that level of boost with a few mods believe it or not!

Bit strange having a 5dr car and ripping out the back seats....

Hehehe, I mean I know its for weight reduction, but the whole point of 5drs is so people can get to the back seats easily. Right?

Lowe is going to implement a "reverse dukes of hazard" whereby he welds the front doors shut and enters the car through the back door just to add to the confusion.

Edit. Btw mate what sort of predicted power output is that going to get you at 42 psi?

Heh actually, I've been considering welding the rear doors up to add a bit more rigidity to the shell. Oh and by the way, I've no intention of running 42psi, the car's a daily driver so that would be extracting the urine some what. It'll be running about 22psi which will mean the turbo will last forever and day and that'll give about 200bhp at the wheels with about the same in torque. More than enough for an 800kg car.

Yes, 5 doors is to aid with getting to the rear seats. A bit like a Clio is to aid you getting to Safeway and back or picking up the kids. It's not meant to be used as a weapon for making ricers look like idiots, or making a rep in his BMW wonder what the hell just blew him away.

It's a sleeper. 5 doors adds to the insult when they lose. It also means I can leave the car virtually anywhere and not worry about it any more than a normal Clio owner. It's not looked at thought of as being a fast car which might I add is rather good regarding the coppers. I don't get the grief off other drivers like my mates do with their Clio 16vs. They can't drive along an A road without someone having a go at them trying to egg them on to race.

If I want peace and quiet, I have it. If I want a spirited drive then all I have to do is let the dump valve go off (it's rather loud) and I've got all the attention I'd need.

Had 109k when I bought it, though it had just gone through a complete strip down and rebuild 4,000 miles ago. The chassis has seen more miles than the engine.
