    No claims discount

When does no claims discount expire if you're not using it on a policy? My mum has 8 years no claims, but hasn't been using it on her new car's policy for the past 2 years (leased car, paid for by Motability).

Will her no claims have expired or can she use it on another policy? It's not being used on the company car policy. Her last insurer was Churchill. How do we go about getting proof of no claims to use on a new policy?

You should've got a letter from Churchill's at the end of her policy regarding no claims bonus. If not you could phone them and hope they still have details of her on their systems.

I phoned an old insurance company more that 3 years after i had left them and they still my details.

I thought it was 12 months, best to ring last insurer and find out though.

normally insurers ask for proof of NCB dated within the last 2 years... and in Dec I took out a policy with Privilege Insurance and posted my NCB out dated Jan 05 out (i've not owned a car since then) and they queried it.. but were happy to accept that i'd not had a car policy since that date and so accepted the NCB

Worth checking with the insurer though, as more than likely they'll all differ...
