    BlackBerry...

    Hey,

Does anyone out there who has a Personal BB know if you have to pay extra to use the BB server or is there any way of getting round it. I know with any of the service providers you have to add an extra £15/£10 pm just becuase its a blackberry.

Is it essential for my to pay the extra amount. Apparently you cant even send a text without it? is this really true?

By BlackBerry server I take it you mean BES server? If so then yes its essential you pay the extra subscription to your service providor, it will probably work for a week, then you will find that the PIN of your BlackBerry is disabled by RIM as you're not paying the correct fee for the service.

Depending on which network you're on it may not work at all, some networks lock the provisioning down via service books which can limit the handsets ability to register with a BES if you're only on the internet mail service.

You can send text without the aditional fee, as thats not service specific.

    Hope that helps
