Looks like an interesting merger of Storm + Bold into one handset.

Reviews have slated it though.
Yup, nothing really revolutionary with the updated Blackberry OS, and the handset isn't exactly ground breaking either... I think RIM are really struggling to get to grips with touchscreen after producing such good, small, qwerty phones.

aggreeed. I think companies need to stick at what their good at, focus on their niche... but the touchscreen smartphone market is just such a tasty slice that everyone wants in on..... RIM is also a small player in the market. They did great with the Bold and Curve series.. but yes I think they're really struggling with the touchscreens. They honestly fail when it comes to touchscreen.... i have yet to play with the torch. But i totally agree that they should just stick to qwerty... cause they make the best I've used...

Blackberries and the best devices when used for email functionality and basic phone (for business use), but they have a long way to go with the Touch screens. A typical example was the Storm handset whic was a complete disaster.
The Bold is a much better handset and does all the basics right, so stick to what they know best and cut out all the fancy stuff.
I think RIM are trying to make inroads on the consumer market as they are probably thinking the corporate side of their profit is going to start to dry up in the next 5 years as cheaper/better alternatives. Out of this push we have botched attempts like the Torch.
Well.. all companies try to do that. It's the only way to gain market share, to cover as much ground as possible. Its a conflict of interest. Yes be good at what you're at. But in order to grow, you have to be able to tap into other markets. That's what black berry is doing with the Curve. To approach teenagers and young adults. The Bold is towards of course the business women/men market. Storm, yes was a disaster and now they are hoping the Torch will bridge the gap. That's what they tried with the Tour, which was also a failure in my opinion.
Who knows, maybe Apple will make their own Qwerty phone LOL.

If you just got it less than 2 weeks ago then here is how you 'use' it. Return it to the store for an android phone. My bosses have blackberry torches, and we all agreed they really didn't measure up to my new Samsung Galaxy.

Two things Rubab - firstly if you want to advertise you need to get permission first, please read http://hexus.net/advertise/
Secondly, this thread is over4 years old, so the chances of the OP having bought it two weeks ago are pretty slim; they'd have to be the Doctor!
Normally I'd've banned you outright for being a spam-bot, but your posting history suggests you might just be a mis-guided real person. So please hang around and enjoy everything the community has to offer - but without posting advertising links before getting permission. Thanks
