    Case ventilation

Hi guys, been a while since I’ve had a case with more then enough fan holes (like, never – not upgraded for many years!) and I’ve got a question about the best way to set my system up.

The way I see it, this 230t has mesh and holes in the case so positive or negative pressure is irrelevant as pressure cannot build up to have any effect, so it’s all about the flow.

I’ve currently got the 2 stock fans at the front (about 30cfm apiece I think), my h105 exhausting out the top and a high CFM fan exhausting out the back.

Any advice on ways to increase airflow? Make the h105 an intake, perhaps? Or is it OK as it is?

Temps seem fine to be fair but just want to make sure I’m not missing a trick.

    Re: Case ventilation

Ideally, you'd want cold air blowing through your radiator, so I'd make the H105 intake and draw air out side into the case. Same with the front fans and leave the rear fan as an exhaust. Otherwise, your set up is fine, just try the one I suggested and see if you get better results. if there is an improvement, It'll probably very minimal or no effect at all.

    Re: Case ventilation

If it's fine as is, don't mess with it.
Setting the H105 to an intake would only be of benefit if the air flows in the same direction as everything else. My concern would be conflict with the front intakes and the single exhaust.
As is, your temperatures *might* be 3-4 degrees lower if it was intaking, but not very much. It matters more that you're shifting any warm air from inside the case to the outside. Yoru CPU may be getting nicely chilled, but there are other components that need cooling too.
Instead, if you have the space you could put an extra set of fans on the radiator, resulting in a push-pull configuration. That may shave several degrees off your temperature.

You apparently have 6 fan mounts in that case, so I'm guessing there's an empty slot on the floor in front of the PSU?
Try using it. That will help feed cool air to the underside of your GPU and help the warmer air rise up toward the exhausts.

If you're able to set your fan speeds (software), it's better to have more at low RPMs than a few at high.

    Re: Case ventilation

Yeah, there's a fan space at the bottom.

push-pull is a complete non-starter as I had to do a no standard mount to even get the H105 to fit at all.

As I say, I'm not experiencing any issues as such, all temps are fine etc it's just been so long so I've done anything like this I just wanted to make sure I'm not doing anything dumb

I'm gonna go with the old analogy if it ain't broke don't fix it. Sounds like it's working as intended.

If you wanna mess then go for trial and error bit make a note of the original setup so you can put it back if needed
