    Carbide Air 540 Question

    Hi,

Thinking about getting this case, I think I probably know the answer but still, on the spec page it says it supports a H100i cooler, will it also support the H100 rad?

Secondly are there any dust filters installed?

And lastly and I am not looking for specifics, is there likely to be a new version of this case coming out this year? As wouldn't want to buy now just to find a new one comes out next week or something

    Many thanks

    Re: Carbide Air 540 Question

H100 will fit as it's the same size radiator. There is a dust filter, but it is only the one, and that's for the front intake. There isn't one on the power supply intake.

For the other question, I'm not sure. Best to wait for a response from a corsair rep.

Thought I'd reply since I haven't seen them online for a while so I wasn't sure how long they'd take to respond.

The older H100 is not specifically listed as a supported cooler... But I have no idea why the rad wouldn't fit, as they both use the exact same one. It's just the pump that is different.
I'd say yes, the H100 will fit just fine.

    Yes, there is/are dust filters.
There is/are "easy access, low restriction, easy to maintain" dust filters fitted.

Nothing I've heard about. But then, these things tend to come out quite quickly after announcements.
If I'd known it was coming, I'd have waited a little while and bought the 750D, but the 500R was the best available at the time.

Oh dear, I should have checked my grammar lol. Shocking use of English people, take note.

Thanks for the replies, pretty much what I suspected, just I know with these things, if you don't check and all that

    Re: Carbide Air 540 Question

The only thing I have noticed that maybe an issue is it states only 2 x 3 1/2" drives on various reviews, I have 3 hmmm.

PS : Sorry about the 3 posts in a row, can't seem to delete my last post and edit the others ones.

    Corsair website says:
    (x2) 5.25in
    (x4) 2.5in
    (x2) Combo 3.5in/2.5in

Could you not fit an adapter to the 5.25" bay(s)?

    Re: Carbide Air 540 Question

I will have a look into it, though I might get a 2TB drive and put the 500gb and 1TB on that.

    Re: Carbide Air 540 Question

Plenty of adapters around it seems, however the 5.25" bays on tool less and can't see anything really suitable for that? I dont want to replace the front bezel just get a drive to fit internally would save me a lot of hassle.

EDIT : Found something Amazingly its called a 5.25" Bay Converter, shocking really

I have this case and swear by it and yes to the fitting. One of the easiest cases ever to build a system

    Re: Carbide Air 540 Question

Well system built and must say that is probably one of the best cases I have worked on. Loads of room, everything nice and clean and the second area for psu etc really helps keep things tidy and cool.

Everything fitted in perfectly and the H100 is keeping the i5 2500K at a cool 25 degrees idle and 46 degrees under Prime 95. And that's on low fans! So overall very happy.

As well as a new case and cooler, also got an AX750 power supply and a GTX970, got a score of 9229 in Fire Strike Performance test on default settings so happy days
