    Akasa Eclipse manual

Just had a Akasa Eclipse delivered today. I was hoping there would be a manual since this is my first build. Anybody know if it should have one? Guess I'll call Akasa Monday am.

    Cheers,
    Dave

    Re: Akasa Eclipse manual

I can't remember if mine came with one or not - but a case manual probably wont contain any info about building a PC.

Use us here at Hexus if you have any issues!

Edit: Ignore my first statement, I have an Akasa Zen for my old machine, not an eclipse - woops!

Mine didn't come with a manual but anything you need to know just have a look around on hexus and you should be able to find the answer, if not someone on here will be able to help you out as the Eclipse is one of the most popular cases on the market

    Re: Akasa Eclipse manual

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully the start build tonight so expect questions! Not really had chance to have a proper look at the case, just had one panel off so far to get the bits out. I guess when I take the panel off on same side as motherboard tray then it'll be obvous how the tray comes out?

    Cheers,
    Dave

Just unscrew any thumbscrews that are on the silver bit at the back and then it will come out.

    Re: Akasa Eclipse manual

From reading hexus forums over last coupe of weeks, one question does come to mind. Does it matter (i.e. will it fit once assembled) if I assemble motherboard, cpu, cooler (Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro) before putting board on the tray? I will I get problems fitting into the case?

    Thanks,
    Dave

should be fine just make sure you have the stand off/risers in right spots ;P

(not sure if this case has built in ones or not)

    Re: Akasa Eclipse manual

Yes very few cases come with manuals, basic instructions on putting a pc together generally come with the motherboard.

generally things are held together with screws or clips, looking at the eclipse it looks like there's some thumb screws that hold it in.
with the depth of the eclipse case you should have no problem getting teh motherboard tray out and assembling the motherboard, cpu & cooler, memory and cards on the tray out of the case, then sloting the lot in.

Remember that you generally don't force things out, so so before forceing something double check you've not missed a screw, clip, catch or you have to move it in a differnt direction.

    Re: Akasa Eclipse manual

Got started this evening. Case is fine, apart from front panel a bit difficult to get off. Got optical/hard/floppy drives, and the psu, installed in the case. Also have motherboard on the tray with cpu and heatsink installed. Memory, GPU and sound card also on board. Should hopefully get it all wired up tomorrow night.

    Re: Akasa Eclipse manual

Hoping to get down to Maplins at lunchtime for round floppy/ide cables. Should have checked length I need - are 45cm cables usually long enough? Motherboard is a P5K-E. Actually tempted to ditch the IDE dvd and just get a SATA drive. The writer I got is SATA, was penny pinching when I chose second dvd drive to be IDE. Given the cabling mess I have, I'm now regretting it.

    Re: Akasa Eclipse manual

You can route the IDE cables round the back of the motherboard tray in an eclipse, the two holes to the right of the motherboard tray when you look at it striaght on just over lap the board and allow you to run all cables round the back to the corrct ports
