Coolermaster Cases on Today Only (Scan)

I got enough bits to make another machine, lacking a few small bits like a KVM switch or its own keyboard/mouse, and a case to house it in.

Originally was gonna use something cheap/free but saw the Coolermaster Cases were on today only at Scan which got me thinking...do I rip everything out and slap it in a new case and use my old Lian Li one for the 2nd box?

Anyhow, I have no experience with Coolermaster cases and so far the reviews for the Stacker and Cosmos seem to be quite good.

What are the real world (ie living with it) views on them? Why is there a V2 to the Cosmos? Is it worth spending almost £100 on a PC case?

It depends on how import aesthetics, noise and cooling are to you and also how many times you plan on playing around with the innards. Also on how long you plan on keeping the case. I was looking at buying a new one recently but actually my *old* PC60 is still bearing up very well (I've had it since my P3 days). The only reason I'll ditch it when I have the cash is to move to 120mm fans.

Re: Coolermaster Cases on Today Only (Scan)

I've had my Lian Li (it maybe a PC60 too...it's a Midi Tower with a side window) since...XP2500 days (or maybe earlier). Again it serves it's job just fine

I fancy a change but only because the Coolermaster cases are on Today Only.

I go through phases of constantly playing with the case and leaving it alone for months at a time.

I do like my PC case to look nice and keep stuff cool. But I used to run a Vantec 92mm Tornado fan as a CPU fan (stupidly loud) and I've swung the other way now and want a really quiet machine.

The Cosmos seems to fit the bill but it's hard to swallow that the Today Only price is just under £100.

its a nice case, i have the v1, built a m8's pc into one as well, and someone else i know brought one yesterday. if your not going to move it around the v1 is great, nice and quiet and cools well. plenty of room for a huge heatsink as i got the ifx-14 in there with enough space to swing a very small cat

If you have a P60 and you replace it with a good, modern case you might be pleasantly surprised how much cooler/quieter it runs. But I don't know whether the cases you have your eyes on will fit the bill.

AHh it's getting too tempting to buy it (Cosmos)...(I could easily save the money for some Forged Pistons or billet crank or inlet manifold or...well the car really.!!! )

I'm looking at a variety of the Coolermaster cases but the Cosmos has caught my eye in terms of looks and functionality and hopefully cooling potential, along with quiet operation.

I got Coolermaster Mystique RC-632B Black Tower Case w/o PSU and it is very well built and loads of space and rapid access.
