Are you powering your washing machine at the same time as well?

Well space is tight, trying to see how many appliances I can hook up ;-)

Just want to futureproof hardware for a while.
Don't fancy upgrading case & power for a couple years.

Might add a couple graphics cards & quad core later , with a bit of overclocking, all adds up.

Unless you run three- or four-times SLI/Xfire I doubt you need that much power. I would even say that power consumption will decrease in future and high power PSU are usually very inefficient at low loads. Say your system "only" draws 100W when idle, you're right at the 10% mark of the chosen PSUs. The current 80+ certificate does not guarantee anything at this load.

Probably will go SLI way, not sure about 3 way though.

Else, have read reviews also recommending the Antec Truepower Trio TP3-650.
    YOYOtech

Otherwise believe the Be QuieT! Dark Power Pro 650W is quite good
be quiet! Dark Power PRO 650W, BQT P7-PRO-650W Modular Low Noise PSU from Overclock.co.uk

Would 650w be enough? Don't want to be short of juice.
What is a good power outage to go for?

Re: Enermax EG1000EWLDXX or Silverstone SST-OP1000 PSU?

    Silentpcreview recommends the following:

    1) Enermax Modu82+ very quiet modular PSU - available up to 650W

    2) Corsair HX620 - very quiet 620W PSU - I have this one and can vouch for quietness

    3) You may also want to look at the Nesteq Semi-fanless PSU - usually completely silent but fan does kick in for about 30 secs every ten mintes or so - depends on useage really

650W should be plenty for SLI even

Re: Enermax EG1000EWLDXX or Silverstone SST-OP1000 PSU?

I had the Enermax 1000W psu and it was loud. Could'nt hear myself think. The fan was spinning at 1587rpm. I went back to the enermax noisetaker.
    HFX Classic - ASUS P5B SE - Intel e2140 - 4GB DDR2 - ATI HD 2400 - Silverstone 300W passive PSU - 320gb WD - IMON VFD - BrogFX 520 & VGA heatsinks
