Great guide, just wish I had the patience to braid each individual wire leading into the 24 pin connector haha.

    Glad you like it

Might have an ATX extender soon so I might braid that and I'll get pictures to show how to get the pins out and the finished effect on that one.

Yeah nice guide, really do like the look of the 24 pin individually braided cables, might have to do this, thanks

hi, am looking at brading my atx power cable wires individually, what size braid and heatshrink is ideal?

    thanks

    3 or 4mm braid and as for heatshrink, 5mm or 6mm 2:1 heatshrink or 3,6 or 9mm 3:1 heatshink.

so the 6mm 2:1 heatshrink will shrink to 3mm and the 6mm 3:1 heatshrink will shrink down to 2mm. If the cables are inside it won't always go to the shrinked size but the smaller it shrinks to the tighter a fit you'll get and it'll stay where it is on the cable. There's also adhesive heatshrink which will glue itself to the braid (what PSU manufacturers use on the big cables too).

    Agreed, who can be bothered?!

I just used black insulation tape over the multicoloured bit on mine to be fair - worked well, took 30 seconds

Moogle do you know the brand of the sleeving you used?
    Or the material?

I've been looking at some stuff and was wondering if you know the difference between Polyester/Terephthalate and (just) Polyester and fiberglass sleeving?

Also any ideas/experience with 3M cold shrink?

Re: Cable Sleeving/Braid Guide (*56K Warning*)

The ones I used were Techflex sleeving which from the site says it's PET (polyethylene terepthalate).
I don't know the difference though

There's different sizes and wrapping ones if you dont want to unhook the cables etc.
