    Project Iceberg (56K Users Beware!)

Well I have finally completed my first water-cooled computer and thought I'd share it here.

    The rig is as follows:

    ABIT NF7-S (rev.2)
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ (not over-clocked yet but I'm about to start)
    ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
    Corsair XMS TwinX 1Gb @ 3700
    2 x Maxtor 80Gb SATA @ 7200rpm - RAID 1
    Antec TrueBlue 480W PSU
    Matrix Orbital LCD
    CoolerMaster ATC-201

Water cooling consists of the following:

Danger Den Maze 4 (CPU & GPU)
    Danger Den Z-Chipset (NB)
    Danger Den tubing (1/2")
    Eheim 1250 pump
    Aqua Computers AquaTube res
    Thermochill HE 120.1 rad
    Criticool Powerplant pump relay

Here's a picture of the whole setup:

    The CPU block:

    The GPU block:

The pump is mounted in the bottom of the 3.5" drive cage with an anti-vibration mounting kit:

The radiator and reservoir are at the top of the case, naturally:

I used 1/2" tubing and fittings throughout:

    continued...

I also spent a lot of time braiding cables and routing them:

    The end result:

And the temps... well I think the system can speak for itself:

    thats beautiful. couple of questions:

do you not use cds? or do you have one big MF of a network (with big hdd!).

where did you get the braid from? I have 3 hdds and 2 cd drives and the power cables are like a jungle...

Did you mod the aquatube reservoir so that it has 1/2" fittings? Or did it come like that?

If you look closely at the first picture, you can just see a TEAC DV-50 in a black, USB-2 enclosure between the TFTs. Unfortunately, with the space constraints of the ATCS-201 this was the only solution for the configuration I wanted.

It's worked out well, it's nice having the optical drive directly in front of me.

where did you get the braid from?
I bought it from Kustom PCs (http://kustompcs.co.uk/product.php?view=2445) and I have used 15m of the stuff. I think it was worth it though.

Did you mod the aquatube reservoir so that it has 1/2" fittings?
No I had to mod it. I bought it without fittings, then drilled and tapped new holes for the 1/2" fittings.

It really is a cracker DarkBlue and is seriously tempting me to take the plunge!

I would have complimented you on the Kustom forums but I can't connect to any of their web addresses at the moment. (I think its an NTL Router thing )

Hi guys. Thanks for all the compliments for Project Iceberg, it's very rewarding to get such positive feedback. Right, I'll try to answer all the questions that have accumulated:

    1) The monitors are LG L1810Bs - 18.1" of TFT goodness in each!

    2) My website is way out of date. That is why it describes a totally different rig from the one I have described here. Users of the forums over at Kustom PCs have followed the progress of this machine through very many changes - my website describes the very first version and I haven't got around to covering the other two builds yet!

    3) The AquaTube is oriented 90-degrees opposed to it's "natural" position. This was the only way I could fit it in to the CM-201 - space constraints as you so correctly guessed Jack!

Again guys, thanks for the feedback.
