Very very nice. One question: how do you get the edges of the window smooth once you've cut it out with a jigsaw? I would've thought that would make a real mess of the edges but you've got it done nice and clean

One tool you might consider is a router - great for clean straight edges.

It will cut alumimum & acrylic and the bits have come down in price soo much as to be disposable almost.

Gordy you have a lot more patience than I have, my custom case (work in progress) is more an example of how not to do it.

Not a spectacular update today as I've just been working on a few cathodes. I've got loads here as I bought a bumper load hehe. I've changed all the wiring and braided the cathode wire on these 8 (2uv 6 blues) here

Yes they are UV mate, and the camera makes them appear brighter than they are in real life, they really are quite dim. However when you start adding UV or plexi bits here and there, they really make your case light up, but on their own no they won't add anything to the overall effect of the case.

Looking good as ever Mr Handley

You wouldnt notice the UV cathodes in real life without really looking, frankly I've been dissapointed by them and I probably won't be using them in the final completed case as I think the blue ones would look better and I don't plan to have masses of uv kit. I will probably throw a couple of 4in uv ones for the effect instead.

Thanks gt3 I hope my message got to u on another certain forum

I've not had a chance to do much of late as I've been writing an article and I've been hit with the flu so no modding. Hopefully I will get some done over sunday

I hope you don't pass out with shock, but I've actually done some more work on this project after a bit of a rest on it. I've finally got around to finishing the window off at long last. I've used a similiar technique to attach the perspex to the panel as I have done on my other project liquid bloo. The small allen headed bolts look quite funky, I decided against glueing as its messy and not as secure.

Onto the Pictures (Click on them for full sized shots):
