    I can't wait for it!

It's an updated version of the Japanese game: Hiite Utaeru DS Guitar M-06

I've just ordered ordered it from Play Asia, apparently the US version is out in the summer, so european one will follow after that.

If you can't wait it can be pre-ordered here:http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-...6-70-1qbh.html

I'd guess the one I've just ordered is in Japanese, so it might be pretty hard to navigate.

If you want the new title Jam Sesssions it's out in July in the US, so you should be able to get it shipped over then, otherwise you may have to wait another few months for the European version.

It should arrive by mid-week next week so I'll let you know what it's like.

I've got no idea how to play some of the game(Japanese manual), but I have now managed to navigate the freestyle section. It really is superb, but obviously you need to know which chords relate to the songs you want to play.

I'm currently trying to nail, Crazy little Thing Called Love. Once I do, I'll try and get it up online.

It's pretty tricky trying to use the d-pad and the pointer at the same time, so my timing is all over the place at the moment.

I can't see how Jam Sessions will be able to improve on this game, you can click and drag whichever chords you want from a substantial list into a box, which corresponds with where you press the d-pad. You then have to hold down the d-pad in that direction and then strum with your pointer.

The difficult part is if you have a song that uses many chords. You then have to use the bumper to bring up a secondary chord screen and then hold that along with the d-pad direction. So you're sort of juggling too many things and trying to stay in rhythm.

Overall, you can have a maximum of 16 chords. Shame you can't do lead guitar though. But, you can add reverb and de-tune the guitar anyway you wish. The sound quality isn't the best, it sounds like a steel stringed acoustic, but it's way too quiet.

The game itself involves strumming along to what I guess are Japanese tracks, but the strange thing is the track doesn't play in the background, you can only listen to it beforehand. So, if you don't know the track it's all a bit of a guess. Wonder if the DS can't cope with two soundtracks at the same time?

If anyone does get it and you need help working out how to navigate let me know.

EDIT : Just read a few hands-on experiences of this and it seems that it's exactly the same game, but I'd guess with English tracks. Still think it's great, but much harder than I anticipated. That Japanese guy must have practised for months.
