    Command & Conquer 3 demo

Apparently the demo should make an appearance on the marketplace today, I'll keep my eyes peeled and let you know if it lands!

I haven't had a chance yet myself either, I do want to give it a go though. Hopefully I'll get round to it this weekend, if not early next week.

More than anything I just want to see how the control system works on the 360. I used to play RTS games many moons ago but haven't done in ages as my PC gaming has all but dried up. If C&C3 actually works well on the 360, it might be something I'd pick up.

Apparantly the demo features online play too with Live Vision support so that might be interesting if you want to see people flash their behinds at you.

Same here, I've got C&C 3 on the PC and I'd liek to see how they compare, but then I couldn't be assed with the slow download

Yep I gave up a 28%. That took around 3 hours. Probably leave it for a bit.

Apparantly there was a problem when the demo was first released resulting in painfully slow downloads. If you cancel the download, delete the file from your hard drive (via system blade) and then re-download it, you should get it much quicker.

I downloaded it yesterday and it finished downloading in about a half hour. I've not had a chance to try the game yet though.

Do you think that RTS games are easy to play on consoles?
I've always struggled myself, much prefer to keep them on the PC!

I've played this at a mates on Sunday, the control system is very similar to that Lord of the Rings RTS that came out on the 360. The Live matchmaking works very very very quiclly indeed, faster than any other Live game I've played.

Its a bit hit and miss though, I can't deal with the complexity of the control system myself, its way too fiddly compared to a mouse.

drucey, it's hard for me to say as I'm not the most experienced RTS gamer. I'll give my opinion seeing as you asked though.

I found the controls on the 360 version of C&C3 to be rather intuitive. It's the first RTS I've played on a console (as far as I can remember) and it works suprisingly well, I felt comfortable with it after the training scenario.

The last RTS I played on a PC was Empire Earth I think, a long time ago! It is undoubtedly still easier to control an RTS game on the PC but if I had the choice of buying PC or 360 version, I would probably take the 360 version. My reasoning would be the advantage of sitting on my couch with a wireless pad whilst playing on a big screen and having lots of friends to play with over Live.

Hole in one! Thats exactly how I feel about it all, sure its better controlled on the PC but I haven't experienced anything quite as good as sitting on the sofa playing some great games with a beer and feeling comfortable.

Playing with friends is ace and the whole package of the Xbox360 with achievements all seems to just work.

I'll try this tonight. As much as I'd like to get it, I think it'd be too wierd to play it on console instead of PC. Much like Football Manager.

I was in 2 minds about buying this, but after trying the demo I won't, I find the controls really slow and frustrating.
