Sounds like a problem with the TV. I had the same problem with my sky HD box when skyhd first came out and contacted pioneer where there replace the HDMI.

My TV is HD Ready and not Full HD and maybe thats the reason but i am not sure so i would like someone to give me an idea what to do.

Its nothing to do with your TV being HD Ready and not Full HD - the PS3 will work fine on either.

The problem lies with the HDMI ports on the Pioneer TVs. The best thing to do is contact Pioneer themselves and explain the problem....it seems you're not the only one suffering from this.

Finanly all i had to do was to buy a 50euro hdmi cable and all work just fine.
The pionner tech. that visited me said that my old hdmi cable was too cheap maybe the worst in the market.

Then your HDMI cable was faulty.

If you paid 50 Euros for one, you've been done.

Agreed. It was just faulty. Surprised you didnt just buy another cheapy one earlier and try that, first thing i would checked.

HDMI cables are just digital, it either works or it doesn't, I have seen compared a £99 "top of the range" cable against a £4.99 cable from sainsburys could see no difference.

Glad TV working for you now though

Here is how to fix it. It isnt a problem with the TV its just stupid design. When you press input select on the remote you get the input list, scroll down to HDMI and press left (or right) on the remote to switch from HDMI PC to HDMI standard. The PS3 should then work after reseting or changing the display settings.

    Hope this helps.
Dude you are a freaking LEGEND. I registered, just so i could thank you.

I always wondered why it said hdmi PC but never thought to scroll left or right. There is no prompt or any indication that you can, and id lost the instructions and couldn't find any on LG's web pages. (this being 2011 now and they dont make that model anymore)

Finally details, i can see beautiful details, what a huge difference it makes. You've made me so happy.

A Pioneer repair agent contacted me and will visit my house this Friday (15th Feb) to do the retrofit. I understand it is a new card to be installed in the media box (not the plasma screen).
I will report success or otherwise after Friday.
Any news about the Pioneer work that you mentioned in a previous post?
    Mike

Update 15 February 2008: Pioneer service agent fitted a replacement main input output card in the media box today, which took about 30 minutes. This fixed the problem, now works perfectly with Sky HD and other HDMI sources (Sony RDR-HXD910 DVD/HDD). A happy outcome for me so have to commend Pioneer.

    Hi.
I have the same problems that you do.I wonder if it is possible by anychances to get more information concerning the card the repair man did change in your receiver.
The type and/or serial numbers etc.
Because I don't have any chance standing in front of Pioneer Inc. Now since they are almost out of the pictures...
Any informations will be very needful indeed.
I don't even know if you are still active on internet or/and this forum.
    Anyway thanks a lot.
