I know I am...Just hoping i'm not gonna get disappointed by a version with the gore removed. I've seen many videos of the wii edition and some have the gore removed. e.g. you get killed by the guy with teh chainsaw in soem version your head comes off blood everywhere.. others nothing just some blood splatter..

I've had mine on pre-order for a few days - some handsome chap started a thread about RE4 in the bargain section - can be had for £22.99 delivered.

Got mine today in the post from Gameplay. Have always used them for games that i REALLY want, as when you pre-order with first class mail - only one quid more - then you get it on release date, but usually the day before!

Only had a quick go - only messing with the first level, which was as far as i got on the gamecube version i bought. I havent played it before that, but I'm also moving house, so going to try and restrain myself until i have moved in, got a nice HDTV and then gonna play it fully for the full experience!

But on first notes - it really is a port in every sense of the word - it looks EXACTLY (yes except the WS bit) like the cube version - but it really is fun taking pot shots at villagers! Cant wait to play it properly. In fact, gonna go for a bit more now - might fit in half an hour before sleep, I'm well knackered!!! Bring on the weekend!!!

I hate you. The only consolation I have is that I'm at work all day today and out all night tonight. Some idiot started a thread in Bargains about the cheapest place that would do Resi 4 and deliver on release date, and it looks like he got it completely wrong.

Good to know it's great fun! I've not played Resi 4 before!

I remember renting RE version something? for the Dreamcast.
Couldn't play for long, 'cos I wore out the skin on my trigger finger - too painful to carry on!

If anyone's still deciding whether to buy this or not, they might want to look at the reviews on metacritic.com - pretty much universally acclaimed.

Well, its not the cheapest, came to £25.98, which is a lot considering the US one is about $20 but it doesnt matter... Just glad I got it!! But for a quid or two difference – just love getting a game delivered to work then itching to play it…

Ended up just messing about with the game until about 1230 last night, Its definitely more intuitive to use – not just in the obvious shooting way, but more so for the general movement of Leon. I found it clunky and a bit difficult on the GC but really a lot more easier to do on Wii…. You really don’t have to think about what you want to do – which I used to feel on GC – but just get on and do it. It is definitely easier to conserve ammo using the “Knee cap someone then rush in and slash/kick them” tactic.

Should be good to play it more. Go get it!

Played an hour or so of this today too. I haven't played any Resi before so it feels very different compared to the usual twitch shooters. I'm sure I'll get used to it though.

As far as I am aware - and this is through reading through the reviews of the game - it literally is an EXACT remake of the gamecube/PS2 version. The only difference in content are the Wii specific controls and the a true widescreen mode. Aside from that I believe everything else is the same as before...

The Wii version also has all the extras from the PS2 version. 2 new guns and another side story as well I think.

I'm loving it! Made it to Chapter 4-1 so far, because I have to work as well. Bah!
