It blew me away when i eventually tried it, its a great solution for those that dont like watching media through a PC monitor
just cant believe how well it handles everything you can chuck at it

Can the 360 stream Xvid yet? I haven't been keeping myself up to date with what it can do.
Xploder do a Media Streaming transcoding kit:
http://www.xploder.net/xbox-360/prod...-Xbox-360-.htm
Only niggles with it are that it takes an age for the playback to start as the PC starts encoding and you can't rewind or anything as just the current part of the file you're viewing is encoded... so it's a case of 'play' or 'stop'.
Still, it's pretty good and saves have to re-encode everything which would muller your drive space.
Why pay?
Transcode 360 will probably do a better job, and its free
Well worth the download
I wish the media functionality on the 360 was even half as good as xbox media center. IMO microsoft would have done themselves a favor to port it over instead.
It can't do media center per se, it's more like media streaming.
So you can't use the PS3 as an extender of a Media Cneter or Vista PC but you can stream video, music and pictures from such a PC through the PS3.
It's all to do with DNLA support which is in Vista and Windows Media Player 11...
