It all depends on what version of the DVD drive you get. The original ones are really noisy whereas the newer ones are much much quieter (apparently).

So which is the best trade in deal? It seems a good idea to me as using HDMI would give me a slight improvment in the visuals but the 120GB hard drive which seems to cost roughly £120 seems to blalnce out the costs?

Let me know if you do go ahead with this, I'd like to know how much I'd end up paying.

I thought the 120Gb drive was also going to give more functionality in the long run i.e downloading HD films etc?

One thing I really like about the Elite is that it is black and not the 'fashionable' poncy white.
