Lightbulb How to play Wii on PC monitor

Maybe everyone knows about this but thought I'd point it out just in case....

Very useful for people like me who don't own a TV. If you want to plug your Wii into your PC monitor instead, the Vdigi VD-W2 is a good option. I bought mine from vdigi.com, cost about £25 or something. It seems pretty well built and works a treat. Only complaint is the blindingly bright blue LED it has on it. Also can't play Gamecube games, which is annoying, and a few wii games don't support the higher resolution either.

Thought I'd let you all know anyway... took me ages to track down what I was looking for.

Yeah, it looked interesting, but can only do 480p so it can't display any GC, VC or the odd Wii game that is 480i only.

TV cards generally have a lag due to the capture and processing. With two types of Hauppauge cards and another dedicated composite video card I've had lags of between half and one second between the frame being captured and it being displayed on screen - which makes playing games impossible.

YUV HD to VGA Converter with VGA-Pass Through: J.S. Technology

Thats what i would need too, as my monitor doesnt have component connectors, only HDMI, DVI and VGA. Its abit expensive though So i guess i will just have to make do with using my wii on the sd tv ive got.. unless i can find something more reasonably priced.

most vga upscalers ARE expensive - at least the good ones are. i've used a bad one before, and been unable to see anything on the screen

    VDIGI Wii VGA cable.

It works better than the Dreamcast VGA cable and looks superb.
