Just played my first 3 games online.
First game was rainbow road lmao. FInished 6th out of 12 I think.
Then played ghost house 2 and finished 3rd and then bowser castle and finished 3 again
They've nailed this big time if you ask me, the online system is absolutely fantastic. I have no idea why it's being slated in reviews... I'm an old school SNES and N64 Mario Karter, and as far as I'm concerned this has the potential the be the best version, especially due to the longevity and replay factors that the online system has introduced. I can see myself playing this for years to come.
I've not got the game as yet but I am definately getting it after Carl's wedding is out of the way.
If you want to add me then my code is as follows ;
5490-5152-4499-8449
Lee you`ll need to mario kart friend code which is a 12 digit code.
Will add u as a friend tonight though to my console :d
What...
Are Nintendo on crack or something? You need yet another code?
Why can't they implement a system similar to XBL or the PS3 network offering as it seems out of the 3 consoles, the Wii is the trickiest out there to get playing online with your mates.
Im with you on this.
I think they are trying to make it safe for the kids to play but it just annoys the hell out of me. If nintendo made a system like the gamertags then it would make things so much better. even if they made it so it was only over 18`s that could do it or at least parental consent was needed.
Saying that though there is no built in chat so it doesnt really make much difference who you play against... Unless ya set up a team speak sever
i love mariokart on the ds, just awesome. and looks like this wii version is even better! might just have to have a look at getting a wii maybe...are the prices still ludicrous ?

The Wii is pretty easy to get hold of atm I think.
The game can be had for less than 35 quid in most supermarkets. I got it for 35 quid from toys r us and it came with another wheel
My mario kart number: 2793-0804-4086
I think the game codes are different to the console codes so that you can have more than one player registered on one console.
I sure as hell wouldn't want you lot playing against my son ;D
100CC iis really hard!!!
Played the Rainbow Roads course last night. Bloody hell, that's like Katamari on smack!
That was the first level I did online lol. ITs crazy
Still having probs coming to terms with the 100CC racing. I cant seem to get enough of a lead so that blue shells dont cause me to end up in 7th lol
OK, I'm having a few games tonight if anyone's up for it? Starting at about 9:30, but should be around a while!
Ok if you think you can beat me...
My Mario Kart Number is: 4554 0164 6373
Wii number: 0813 5347 3365 9095
I'll try adding everyone this evening
Update: I've added every single one of you. I need to regain some points I lost to some japanese kid earlier on today...

I met my first ever 9000+ opponent today... remind me to never play Wordwide again The japs are just ridiculous. It was on Bowser Castle (new Wii version), he handed us all a lesson by about half a lap, then buggered off.
