    Ikaruga and similar

I was playing this for ages last night and then straight afterwards I played geometry wars. I didn't realise to start with but I was still trying to kill enemies in groups of three. :/ I also managed to double my best score with what I thought was very little effort, I'm disappointed in how inefficient I was before Ikaruga showed me the light and showed me how to appreciated my time and space when it comes to shooting things.

It got me looking into the other bullet hell games out there

Nice to see there are some peeps playing proper games, and we are not all shandy drinking gamerscore boosters, playing King Kong and Avatar, like in the 1000'd thread. I had to have a shower after reading it.

How you doing then? I've only managed the beat first boss, beat second boss and dot eater achievements so far, but I've not had a good session on it yet.

Hex, you must be playing this? Please tell me you ain't playing Avatar and EA Basketball games with the score boosting salad eaters in the other thread?

That is some crazy **** homes.

Raz, you getting any controller drift on Ikaruga? Its mentioned in the GameSpot review and it is happening to me sometimes. Could get on my nerves when I'm trying for the A rank achievements.

'Depending on whom you ask, or what controller you're using, some players may encounter a drift in the spacecraft after maneuvering. It doesn't happen to everybody or even at predictable times, but it could end up causing a tragic end to gameplay.'

Yeah that's what I've got (did the dot eater thing without even realising it was an achievement, which is nice!). The third boss is like trying to interrupt someone who won't shut up, I don't think I was even close to destroying it.

I must be getting pretty close to A grades on levels 1 and 2 but to be honest I just spend most of my time playing the first level. There are people out there who can control both players at the same time O_o puts anything I'll ever manage to shame.

Sometimes my ship drifts backwards on it's own, I assumed it was a 'feature' more than anything but obviously not!

So I just beat the final boss, maaaaaaan talk about intense!

I'm also kind of disappointed with myself but I had a dream last night that was a cross between ikaruga and oblivion, goes without saying it was good

Man, I played the demo of this last night and it's pure 0ldsk00l!!

Fast, furious and suprisingly fun. These old style shooters can still hold their own in the gameplay stakes
