Its not a code. You had to sign up on the MS Connect website about 3 weeks ago, and its tied to your console ID.

it's posted all over the internet for people to download. i know a certain someone :whist: that has it installed on their xbox and it's pretty good

I got in, installed it today, My sig showing proof. Install was slow, and game installs were slower, but there was enough improvement to warrant it. Shame though it it's defeated by the fact I still have to get up and find the disc on my shelves to play it, but that's already been discussed. I think the new dash will take getting used to for all my usual functions like playing video and XBLA gaming, but I guess it's worth it, it gives a very different feel to the console. More relaxed.

So far the only game I haven't been able to install is Crackdown, probably because of the Halo 3 stuff on the Disc

There are only 2 games that don't support the hard disk installation. Unfortunately Crackdown is one of them! Can't remember what the other one was though. Read this on Eurogamer a few days back.

Halo 3 supports it, but it goes in reverse and takes longer to load!

Mainly because of the amount it has to load from the disc and store in cache most of the time IIRC

Yeah, they probably just need to patch it to detect where it's being loaded from (easier said than done). Reading from the hard drive, writing to cache and reading from the hard drive again can be slow =P
