First experience of pro evo 09 on live... and it was pants.

Ok, so firstly it seems impossible to just 'play a game with a mate', they still have the old lobby system which looks exactly the same as previous versions with one exception. It doesn't work, invitations were greyed out in match rooms and we could see. no way to view the available match rooms. In the end we used quick match to get a game going in an empty lobby which worked. We played a game which was full of lag, barely playable really. Has anybody else experienced that? could have been his flat mate using iplayer and downloading stuff.

Tried another game with flatmates downloads off and after 2 attempts we couldn't find each other in fairly empty lobbies (were no properly empty ones) and was matched up with players not even in the same lobby. Even more annoyingly you can't cancel a game if it's with somebody you want to play, you have to reboot the game!!!!

    I mean wtf?

Did they do any testing at all?

Did they have even one design meeting about the UI?

Other than that I am enjoying single player, but the online tonight was shocking and enough to convince me that next year no matter what I am going to learn to play FIFA if they don't sort it out.

haven't tried myself but my 2 mates that have it have both said the online is a waste of time and are going to be selling their copies to come over to fifa.

It's not crap, the single player gameplay is still the most fun. It's just got no polish.

Online is messy, the lobbys look bad and are confusing. Getting the game you want is more work than it should be.

FIFA has all this polish, but it's still FIFA, and it bores me.

As I've said before, until a game comes along that has the gameplay of Pro Evo and the look and slick polish of FIFA, footy games are going to be average at best.

I am loving the SP, but in this day and age it's simply unacceptable to have a broken online component.

Re: First experience of pro evo 09 on live... and it was pants.

I managed a game last night that was lag free and i finall figured out how the match rooms work. It's all worded really badly in the menu's and confusing but at least i can get a game now.

Have to say, the master league mode is as good as ever anybody else playing this?

Il give you all a little tip, buy a player called 'Chirne' , after a season or two he is as good as Ronaldo.
