1) The store - Ok, not the whole "USA has it, why haven't we?" (but they can fix that too!) but if GT5 can give us a teaser trailer of the game before I download it, why can't every other producer? I don't have time to read a gazillion reviews and your mediocre description of the game isn't going to win me over either. Demos are fab (Every company should do them!) but equally, a video stream may tempt me to try the demo.
2) So, I can download from the store in the background, so why the hell can't I copy files over in the background? I bought my PS3 to be a media hub - 320GB went in from day one, but whilst I'm copying stuff to it either via the network or from a directly attached USB drive, can I play a demo? Watch it fold for Hexus? Nope, I get to watch a progress bar that makes a Windows progress bar look deadly accurate!
3) some sort of folder explorer. Ok, slightly limited in appeal, but whilst doing my upgrade, I did a friends as well. Now the odd thing was that my 5GB of data on my 80GB drive became 10GB when I restored it on the 320GB. What's using what? Who knows! Then the only way we could get my friends drive to backup was to strip of virtually everything! You ever tried deleting 99 out of 100 saved games? "Select one, invert selection, delete", heck I'd even settle for "drag and highlight, delete" but no, you have to hover over, triangle, delete - 99 times! When we finally got his 40gb down to 21 that too expanded to 40GB on the 320GB we put in his - what's that all about??
I'm sure I'll find a few more over the coming days, but these 3 strike me as stuff that, unlike say, adding Mkv support, the functionality is already there in one shape or another.
