Good for me that I've never played any of the Halo series, nor do I own a 360.

It won't be pushed forward, it will ruin the Thanksgiving/Xmas game rush if they do.

I don't intend on stamping on the thread, personally I couldn't care less what Microsoft choose to do as the Halo franchise really doesn't interest me greatly but I suppose it merits as much discussion as any other bit of gaming news this week. So long as nobody starts bragging about how they've downloaded it or posts links to copyrighted material there'll be no problem
Sorry it was, was missing the rolling eyes there.
What they can do though is check which version the console is registered to, including country etc (and if needed IP etc (there is a LOT of your console info that can be found when you go online with it)) if you play it on Live.
I think it's safe to assume if you DON'T live in France, ARE playing the game online they would probably assume you're playing a dodgy copy of the game and could ban you (Not sure (although I have a very good idea) of how the hardware checking works and if I did I wouldn't be explaining it to anyone else outside of MS)
Personally... I would wait to release, especially if the game isn't in English(I play some Japanese games that I have imported...but only as a real last resort as you lose a lot of the story and depth if you can't make out what is going on in cutscenes/in game dialog)

There is a lot of information they can take from your xbox when connecting to live (such as knowing if youve got a pirated game, changed FW etc) and even the pirates say that the only way not to get caught is not to pirate.

Is ODST the game that has all the Halo 3 Mappacks, etc?
That disc hasnt been uploaded yet though.

Also - if your using an unbanned console with an offline profile - do not keep it in the drive after finishing - put another disk in and boot it up to remove the data.
