I'd look at this very carefully if you were a long standing member, but as a general rule simply joining the forum to make a profit is something we discourage. Well it won't just benefit me, and as you can see I'm a long standing member of MSE, but it's up to you.

I didn't have to post the link, just thought I would since then people would have a choice over who referrs them, as there are a lot of other people looking to be an ambassador over at MSE.

If you were a long standing member here, then certainly, I would consider it on its merits.

But by virtue of your position as the Ambassador, you stand to gain personally to a greater extent than individual members here (for five members signed up, if I understand correctly, you would gain 2500 points?).

That's true yes, and I wasn't trying to disguise that in my original post. I'm always very open and honest. It's 500 points for each of us when I refer someone.

I know I haven't been a member here long, but that's because I've only ever used the hexus website for the online reviews. I've never really needed to post before. I've been on MSE for years and only have 85 posts. I'm not really a very active forum user usually.

If you had been a member on these forums for a longer period, as I said, my decision may have been different. However, having had a chat with other Mods/Admins, there has yet to be a substantive reason for this to be reinstated.

As I said, if that changes, it will be restored, but that hasn't happened yet.

Sorry to have to say this, because it's a nice idea but I've got to agree with Dave here, I think you stand to gain much more from this than the other members, if you'd been an active member here previously I'd be more inclined to let the thread run its course but we don't allow members to come here purely to profit from the for sale forums and in my opinion while this situation's slightly different the principle's the same.

That being said, it doesn't mean you have to leave and never return though dude, I'd much prefer it if you stuck around a while and got involved on the forums. Being a long term member of MSE I'm sure there are other threads here that could benefit from your contributions and next time you come up with a good deal like that (because it is a good deal) we won't have to feel you're taking more from the forums here than you've put in if you catch my drift
