Final Fantasy XIII

I'm starting to enjoy it now, would have spent more time playing it but I had a waterloop to disassemble and an i7 setup to build

I did play it for a few hours earlier though and the story is starting to kick in. I'm really enjoying it. The combat gets better the more you play it.

so i got my copy on tue, and spend a good few hours playing it.
after reading a review or 2 beforehand, i was slighty worried... but....
im loving it.
combat starts simple, but gets better as you progress.
switching a paradigms is easier than i first thought, and seem to be doing it more than i expected.
just need to get a handle on the upgrade system.
damn work - always gets in the way

Yeah the paradigms are starting to come in handy, thankfully I'm not working today so I'll make a bit of progress with it!

Played it for about 4 hours so far and loving it. Just got my first Materia with Snow, love the way you have to earn them within a time limit.

Loved the way the main characters converged in the big green thing after an hour or so play (trying to avoid spoilers here! ). I'm wondering what the Choccobo has to do with it atm, hope to dont have to do the whole FF7 thing with the races etc!

Cutscenes are once again something very special, what you would come to expect from Square Enix.

I'm completely utterly disappointed and underwhelmed by this game. I'm onto the 2nd disc now and it's hardly fun at all (well, to me). The positive things are that its an incredibly pretty game (apart from the super low polygon floors etc with bad textures) and the battle system is quite new and different, yet very good - I love that. But I keep playing in hope that it will get better

i went donw to argos today and got my copy the missus was gonna keep it til my birthday but she said i can have it now

Downside is no ps3 til tomorrow i am really looking forward to playing this.

Just completed the game. I think it is one of the least impressive final fantasy i have played..

The graphics are great and the scenes are amazing. I'm happy.

Well, seen as the threads been bumped I may as well add to it. Up to the last Cieth mission (64) but getting my arse kicked off the boss, finally got one of the ultimate weapons as well which gives me 6 ATB slots.

i finished the game but just couldnt be bothered with all the bits after took the fun out of it for me once it was done. not the best final fantasy so far but not bad either.

Considering I've never really gotten into a FF game before after trying FF7, FF10, FF10-2 and FF12, FF13 is proving to be the most enjoyable of the lot. I liked a lot of FF12, but I hit the classic FF grind and then brick wall in the difficulty curve.

Aside from the boss fight in Chapter 9 I haven't had to hit GameFaqs or replay too much. 25 hours in.

Got past him. Don't want to spoil it for other people, it was the big Fal'cie chap with 5 heads.

barthandalus there are way tougher batles to come

Agreed. and TBh if you have got this far you've already beat one of the hardest bosses - that turtle thing in the woods.

I think it comes down to strategy, I don't even remember the turtle battle being hard, I think I just had the right setup already. Barthandalus was easy once I knew what to do, before I had the wrong team with the wrong paradigms.
