Will Game trade in a PS3 without a Warranty Sticker?

Wondering if Game or other stores like Blockbuster... will take a phat PS3 for trade-in without a warranty sticker??

I know Game will give me £130 trade-in for a phat 60gb, but it has no warranty sticker.

Does that matter even though its over 3 years old?

Do they check Serial Numbers because it's a US version?

I've got everything backed up so I might just try formatting and taking it up there and see what happens, for all they know I brought it second hand a while ago.

It might be worth going to a town centre, and just trying about 3 or 4 stores in a row... even if the first says no (which I suspect they should), there's nothing to say that the others will follow suit.

well if game don't take it you might be able to sell it to CEX as i have seen a US and a JAP version of PS3 at one in town

Well it's £130 for a 60gb phat, I can only imagine your get an extra 10 or 20 quid if that.
I have'nt traded mine in yet I keep fixing it.
It's the cheaper option at the moment. That is until i've spent about £200 on thermal paste and flux !!!

Just been down to my local game, offered £110 as a trade-in but only if i switch the 80gb back into the console! either way not going to do that, decided to just buy a slim and will flog the phat soon when i've backed it up.

Did you take the actual console down there??? if so did they check the warrenty sticker?

No, i just asked the manager. I couldn't be bothered to take the whole thing down there!

P.S the warranty sticker is fine, as long as its not over the hdd cover (which im sure its not) the console is only a year or so old.

I'm in the process of backing up my data, really excited to just play red dead on the new one lol
