Xbox 360 Elite Waranty info?

Hi guys,

I'm planning on buying an Xbox 360 Elite off my cousin.

I'm dodgy about buying an Xbox without a receipt though, however I've just registered the console for him and it says Your Standard Warranty expires on June 29, 2011.

If the console ever needed to go back to Microsoft for repair, would they need to see a proof of purchase as he doesn't have one?

I've sent 2 for repair myself and never needed proof of purchase.

No as they have serial numbers on there systems and there infromed when it is sold by the retailer
