I was wondering if anyone could tell me what API Playstation 3 uses? I'm looking to compare it with Direct3D for an assignment and I'm assuming it's OpenGL so any help with pros and cons will also be very appreciated.

What API?
IIRC it's a proprietary one however engines have been ported, it's not a specific one as many developers use their own instead of using the basic one.
You will probably be hard pushed to find more info as it's under NDA and Sony are quite iffy about stuff getting out
I'm not sure how in depth we have to go, but I would like to compare it to Xbox 360's more than anything and the pros and cons if its applicable. Thanks for the replies so far they have been very helpful - will it cover it to say that PS3's API is basically OpenGL modified?
