Whats nintendo like these days (coming from nes and snes days)

    Hey.

Back in the 80s and 90s i was into the nes and snes when they were popular and came out. Used to like zelda, mario, sf2 etc.

Are the games still good like that or did they lose touch what made nintendo games really cool and fun?

I looked at the zelda games and they just dont look like fun in 3d i still regard link to the past the best ever zelda or rpg game for me.

I personally feel that they have lost a bit of touch. While their Mario and Zelda games are still fun to play, it's not really the same experience as their counterparts from 10 years ago.

It feels a bit, gimmicky, I would say.

TBH,what I found with the Wii was that even non-gamers actually found the games fun due to the interface. The Wii U does look interesting, but I will reserve judgement on it,until the reviews come out and they appear in shops.

I would probably agree that Nintendo seems to cater more to casual gamers now (nothing inherently wrong with that, just be aware of it), I picked up a Wii on release and have played about 3 games, one of which was Zelda. It was fun enough, but I did prefer the older games and feel that a lot of the Wii games are only fun in small groups or relies heavily on gimmicks.

The DS was better, but I still find there's a lack of games designed for people who prefer a challenge. This isn't as bad as the Wii. I haven't picked up a 3DS, but I have no interest in the technology.

I thought about a ds but there a bit kiddy for a adult these days i think. I mean if i had one i might look a bit weird playing zelda on it in front of ppl

Zelda would be at least 2d instead of 3d on it and maybe like the old snes zelda.

I still have very fond memories of the snes and nes, maybe im just nostalgic for em.

I think Nintendo need to step up their game I'd say when golden eye came out and perfect dark that was their peek and when the wii technology came out. It's hard to keep everyone happy but what they have done greatly is get the older and younger generation involved. Saying that how many times have I played cod on the 360 with an 8 year old kid kicking my ass with his school mates.

I've had all the Nintendo consoles including the NES, and they have done a good job evolving while keeping the Nintendo spirit. They have some of the best IP in the games industry, and their are a lot of titles I'm looking forward to on the WIIU, but I agree they need to step up their game. Yes I will buy your console just to play the new mario and the new zelda, but I hope they have some new must have games as well.
