    PS4 Peripherals Thread

I figured it maybe a good idea to start a PS4 Peripheral thread to talk about such things as controllers, camera and various mics/headsets etc.. also the Morpheus VR kit, which will being coming at some point in the future to the PS4, (just imagine "No man's sky" with this)

PS4 camera - Sony should create an on-line poker game which makes use of it.. I've noticed there are no multi-player poker games on PlayStation at all. Maybe they should make an on-line multi-player poker game period and add the camera functionality later as an option?

PS4/DualShock 4 controller - Sony should create a DualShock4 "Pro/Elite" controller which has the same design as the standard DualShock 4 controller, but has superior build quality, comparable to that of the Xbox One controller build quality. The battery life too increased, possibly at least doubling the battery life.

Anyway, just a few thoughts there

Gamespot says Morpheus is 85% complete and Sony are aiming to have the consumer product available by the end of 2015:

Also Playstation TV is here though Techradar gave it 3/5:

Battery life was rather disappointing compared to the PS3 controller. I've turned the brightness of the light down, really needs an off switch for those of us without a camera attached. Hopefully this will improve it.

Anyone used a Vita as a second controller? At £50 a pop I'll not be getting another controller anytime soon, but we do have a Vita (second hand).

Sony should make a controller that doesn't break so quickly and replace it with all the dualshock 4 controllers for free, but they're not going to do that. They were on watchdogs last night with the issue, and some people are claiming that they're taking over a month to replace/fix the controller in some cases (which I can belive).

    Re: PS4 Peripherals Thread

To be fair, I know a number of folk that have sent the controllers to Sony to have them replaced free of charge and sending them back in less than 2 weeks.

For those greeting, they were unlucky I say.

@The Hand, I agree, would be awesome if they implemented a Poker game. I know we had one for the Xbox 360, but was cack.

    Re: PS4 Peripherals Thread

I recently got the Tritton Kama headset for PS4 - for £20 you can't expect much but they are decent and the mic seems to work well. My main issue with them is they sit on ear rather than over the ear so they aren't as comfortable as I'd like. I'll get a new set at some point - the official Sony ones look decent, as do a couple of the turtle beach ones - but I can't spend the money until I've gotten Xmas out of the way.
What headsets are others using? Any recommendations?

    Re: PS4 Peripherals Thread

I'm using just Sony headphones at the moment. They produce better sound than the TV does and I can use the mic on the PS camera if need be in multi-player. I should probably invest in a decent headphone+mic combo at some point though.

PlayStation TV sales up 1,272% on Amazon since price cut - Sales soar as Sony drops price to £44.99.

Anyone tempted? Also is it worth having a PS Vita and one of these and PS4?

    Re: PS4 Peripherals Thread

WRT the dualshock 4 issue (split rubbbers, fnarf!)....I recently purchased a second-hand PS4 and the DS4 had the issue........I spent 99p to buy new ones and with the use of a Philips 00 screwdriver, replaced them in 15 minutes. Good as new. Just don't jank the controller apart too fast, the slower you go the better chance you'll have of the trigger springs staying in place (mine didn't budge and I took it to bits twice as I placed the ribbon cable for the light on the wrong way first time), I still have a PS3 controller in bits somewhere that I just could not get the springs back into properly!

Probably costs more than 99p to send the controller to Sony.

    Laser Technology.
Auto Focus & Free Focus modes.
Can project up to 120-inch screen size (from about 3.6m away).
    1920 x 720 resolution.
    Brightness rating of 32 lumens.
    HDMI/MHL connection.
Ability to stream video from any device, over Wi-Fi.
