Another comparison video here:
I keep getting blown away by how good it looks Also as long as I get a 7200rpm drive it will match the sshd and not have the problems I experienced seems to be the gist of the video. Since there are no 7200rpm 2tb drives I think I will just get a 2tb to avoid upgrading again.
Can't view the videos right now but I'm assuming they're the DF/Eurogamer of essential? They've done a couple of comparisons and SSHDs always come out as a decent cost/performance solution from memory, not sure if a 7200 would be hotter/louder than I'd like.
Yeah inevitably it's a trade off between capacity, speed and price. As Ferral said earlier, a 2TB Samsung drive is probably a good bet on capacity and price since there is still no 2TB sshd available. Ssds are still too pricey for a reasonable upgrade for a ps4 imo. I'm still on the stock 500GB hd myself and have resorted to uninstalling games to play any new ones at the moment!
Woohoo. Just treated myself to the Tesco bundle (PS4, Uncharted4, Doom, Cod3 Black Ops) for £274. They've got double clubcard points on too. Should be here tomorrow.
That's a cracking deal
I'm waiting for UC4 to hit £30/35 before I get it, hopefully there will be a decent deal somewhere soon.
So what else is worth getting now I've got the PS4 on order. I'll pick up a copy of The Last Of Us, as I didn't get around to completing that on PS3. I don't like RPGs (as I don't have the time to sink into them) or FPS (which I prefer playing on PC). I quite enjoyed Need for Speed Rivals as a pick up and play racer, and I really liked the early Ninja Gaiden games, although Ninja Gaiden 3 was absolute rubbish!
Keep your eye on cdkeys.com. Quite a few bargains pop up for all platforms, but make sure you get a UK compatible offer as it's a global website and some are for US or Germany only etc. You might want to have a look at Until Dawn and Firewatch(cross-platform) .. I'm waiting until the psn summer sale before possibly getting them though.

Out of interest, are games bought from PSN ie digital copies faster loading than physical copies? Presumably reading from a HDD/SSD is much faster than an optical disk?
Nah, consoles install to the HDD now anyway so it's the same, I'm sure a big download is slower than the first install from a disc so actually digital might technically be slower! Of course disc based games have to spin up to validate the ability to play...
So what I'm saying is that it's a mixed bag with little difference either way
