Choosing between PS5 and Xbox Series X

Both gaming consoles are going to be in the stores in a moment and I am still wondering which one should I choose. So far, I have been always choosing playstation (ps2, ps3 and ps4 pro) but this time I'm not so convinced of their latest model. The price is the same (at least in my country), almost all specifics of both devices are also of similar quality. In such a situation, I would probably buy a Playstation again, but first of all I do not like their console design and secondly, paying for PS plus is much more expensive than Xbox Game Pass. Recently, I saw pre-order statistics for ps5 and xbox sx and ps wins by a lot. what are the biggest advantages of the Playstation 5 in comparison to xbox series x?

All you have listed is market share which is nothing to do with pre-orders

Ultimatly, they will play most of the same games to a similar level.
There's only really 2 things that matter.

1. Exclusives for each console. PS will have games like Gran Turismo, Last of Us, Uncharted series.
Xbox will release games like Forza, Halo, Gears of war etc.
Of those, which is a bigger pull to you?

2. If your gaming online alot. Friends list is going to be important. What do your mates play? Assuming you move over to Xbox, would you miss playing with those people if they stay on PS?

If i do jump on board with a console. It will be a PS to play Gran Turismo. Won't be for a while if it happens.

For me as I have a PC most of the xbox exclusives I would want to play will be playable on PC, so a PS5 makes sense for me. Think about what exclusives appeal to you more and decide because bar that you would probably be fine with either in terms of functionality.

You don't like the console design, and that's a key reason why you don't want it. Seriously? You're not going to stare at it as you play through the vast landscape of Sony exclusives.

For xbox, I'd rather play on pc. But if one doesn't have a pc then I can see the allure with the Xbox Series S. In fact, I'm tempted and I've never considered Microsoft consoles previously. I am not interested in a PS5 and won't be until in a few years when there is a back catalogue of exclusives and the console price is lower. I'm tempted by the Series S because I used to play a fair bit of Fifa, and on PC the game is dead. With a Series S, I can get in at a cheap price and sell for little loss (or even buy used for cheaper), once stock is plentiful.

Honestly I still can't decide which one to get PS5 or Xbox Series X. I am looking at the specifications and also I watched some reviews on YouTube and most of the games run a bit better on PS5. On the other hand, I owned all the Xbox consoles and the game pass is awesome.
Which one did you buy and are you happy with the console?

I don't know if this helps but I have an ageing PC, I had a PS4 that I really enjoyed as it fit in well with the PC gaming.

But with this generation I decided to get a Series X and game pass, because my PC is getting on in age abd to me the Series X is like a breath of fresh air I am having so much fun with it even with games I had on PC that ran ok but no where near 60fps are now running like a dream.

I cant keep up with the ridiculous price of PC gaming anymore, The PS5 I would love to get later on for the exclusives but right now game pass and the Series X for me are unbeatable.

Also I think the PS5 runs games better because it runs a lot of them at lower resolution than the series X does and because of this it's smoother less juddering, if you check out digital foundry on YouTube they regularly test the Series X and PS5 and the series X nearly always runs games at a higher res.

With game pass ultimate being so cheap (with the games with gold trick I got 3 years worth for £120,) I decided to buy a Series S. That way the more obvious keyboard & mouse games or those that benefit from being ultra shiny I play on pc, the lower hardware stress or gamepad oriented games I play on the One S.

Unlikely I'll ever purchase an xbox game outright though, £70 is taking the biscuit.

I have the game pass as well and while I despise not actually owning the game, I actually don't mind it on the xbox. Now if it was a PC game then I would prefer to own but for the xbox makes sense considering the price of games

The most significant advantages are the Sony exclusives. But the year 2021 passed, and only 2-3 exclusives of dubious quality came out on PS5. In 2022 Horizon and God of War should be released, which should be the primary games of the generation. But I'm not sure whether to buy PS5 either, because it's still hard to buy

if you have a gaming pc there is no point buying xbox imho especially now when almost all xbox games are available on pc
I stick with pc for most of my games and ps5 for exclusive.

Price is a good reason to buy a Xbox, especially a series X. You will struggle to buy a graphics card let alone a PC to run 4K.

well yes.. in current gpu market its really hard...
but it wasn't that bad.. i just wish more games suported keyboard and mouse.
