Nintendo DS Lite randomly freezes!

Good day!
I have a Nintendo DS Lite that randomly freezes while playing it and pressing buttons and you need to restart it. It can even happen right away upon starting the console and pressing some buttons, so I don’t think it’s a matter of over-heating, but rather the button press on the PCB! I opened it up and visually I don’t see anything wrong, cracked, broken or burnt on the PCB and I also tried a different battery. What could be the cause and how could I fix it?

Only things I could think of here is firstly have you filled the storage?
Secondly have you tried a factory reset, though don't do this if you have software you can no longer get back.
