Atari Lynx LCD Screen Dark Vertical bar Problem Fix

    Good day,
I recently got an Atari Lynx handheld. It works fine, sound, brightness and buttons are all functional & responsive and the screen view angle is fine.
But there is this irritating darker vertical bar / strip in the center of the screen in all brightness levels that I tried, as pictured in the screen-shots below.
Is this a case of faulty capacitors that need to be changed like we do in the common SEGA Game Gear LCD screen problems, or is it some other different issue and how exactly do I fix this?!
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

Re: Atari Lynx LCD Screen Dark Vertical bar Problem Fix

Not really messed with a lynx all that much (swapped a screen on one years ago for a friend) but I have never known this issue but have seen in most cases recapping hasn't fixed screen issues.

Personally I would replace with a newer LCD/IPS, depending if its a 1 or 2 there may even be drop in replacements available, they improve the playability massively and reduce power draw, of course you may want to keep it original which is fair enough. Also they aren't cheap so having a second one to swap parts with to test probably isn't an issue. I know some screens have a 1 to 4 pixel mapping and can emulate the scanlines back in if wanted.

If you have the ability to recap then you may as well start there as its a good thing to do anyway.
