    Impressed with Creative

    Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know how impressed I am with Creative's customer Service.

I bought an MP3 player from them 3 years ago and the audio connector started failing. It is obviously well out of warrenty, and I don't even have the receipt anymore. I contacted them to see if they ran a repair service, and how much it would cost.

Next thing I know I've been given an RMA and I figured that as it didn't work I may as well send it in even though they hadn't indicated a price for repair.

4 Days later I received my repaired unit. No Charge.

I don't know if they do this for everyone, but I'm very pleased Saved me splashing out £130 for a new one.

Compared to the reports on Ipod customer service I know who I'm buying from in future!!

That's impressive. My experience with them isn't bad, but not as praiseworthy as yours. My Elite Pro failed within a year, and I contacted them for an RMA. After several email exchanges (they wanted to make sure that the fault isn't on my end), I was issued an RMA number. I sent it on the 25/01/07 via special delivery, and the card was sent back on the 21/02/07 (Wednesday). I missed the delivery, so I now need to wait till Monday, but I got an email saying it was shipped, so it could've only been that. That's 4 weeks, which is.. one of the slower RMA service I've experienced - though after all said and done, I am just relieved it is being sent back.

Not quite so good, but reasonable all the same. My X-Fi died for some unknown reason. Once I got past the silly questions (I was getting a PCI error at boot in two different machines) about software config I sent it back and had a replacement within a week.
