Taking photos of runners (London Marathon)

Hi all

This Sunday is the London Marathon and I'm planning on going along to cheer on the runners (having stumbled around it in the past I know how much I appreciated their support and there really is nothing like the crowds at the London Marathon!)

Does anyone have any tips for getting interesting photos of it? I'm thinking of doing ground level shots of feet, trying to pick out interesting costumes with my 70-300mm telephoto... any good tips or inspirational ideas very welcome!

Have tried taking photos of basketball matches and at Twickenham last weekend, but they're never as good as I hope for...
