Oh the blue skies of the North East....and other things...

No time for a walkabout during our whistle-stop visit to the North East, but while being dragged from place to place managed to point my camera in the right direction once in a while.

You'll have to forgive the over abundance of Newcastle Millenium Bridge shots....it's a fantastic shape, and against the blue skies was just a beautiful subject. So many blue skies featured here because it's such an unusual sight in the North East that I was eager to capture as much as possible, as future proof that it's not permanently gray

And as for the rest....bits and bobs....hope you like 'em.

I love bridges, i've got loads of photos of various ones.

Glasgow has a squint bridge that i want to get a better look at. it's nice at night too.

I can hardly complain though. You've got better pictures than I have of a bridge that's about 3-4 minutes drive from mine. Love the different, non-obvious compositions of the bridge shots, and indeed, all the others.

What kit did you use to take these?

Durham shots are interesting, was the light naturally that good or have you really boosted the contrast afterwards? Either way, good photos, just curious as to how they were achieved.

I drive over the squinty bridge quite often, not had a chance to take photies of it or the developing clydeside yet though unfortunately. It looks similar to the bridge in the top few photos.

Yeah, I thought I might get that kind of response over the bridges....but it just goes to show how aesthetically pleasing they are. Plus, the hotel was right in front, and given my limited mobility these days, it was actually the one place I got the chance to photograph for more than 5 seconds.

35mm f2.0 on a 20D.

I boost the contrast on everything...."if it looks good straight from the camera, imagine how good I can get it in PS" is my general philosphopy...
